When Aquila was but an egg it was sold to a gourmet noble who had always craved a taste of gryphon omelet. Gryphon eggs were very rare because all gryphons had migrated from these lands years ago. Fortunately for Aquila, the noble was attacked and eaten, ironically by a giant Troll on the way home. This Troll was then slain by a shinning knight called Sir Oliver. The noble knight helped the egg hatch and nursed the young gryphon until it was able to fly free. But the gryphon never left the knights side... They have been inseparable
friends ever since.
